Laurie Mingus, TLPC-MHSP

Laurie is a National Certified Counselor who uses a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Personal-Centered, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Culturally Responsive therapies. A skilled listener, thoughtful communicator, and deeply empathetic therapist, Laurie welcomes teens, adults, and elderly clients into a comfortable and safe environment.

As a woman of strong faith, Laurie believes there is health and healing for every individual she meets, whether it be for anger or aging, substance abuse, grief or trauma, career or life transitions, stress or anxiety, parenting, or partners. Her lifetime of experience as a teacher, parent, and grandparent adds to her wealth of knowledge and skills as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist.

Her journey to Ellie Mental Health started over a decade ago, when good friends found themselves rescuing young women trafficked in Eastern Europe. After meeting these girls, Laurie came away with a burning desire to help them reintegrate into society, sparking her determination to build the necessary skills and education to accomplish that desire. She obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2019 and never looked back.

When she’s not here at Ellie, you’ll find her reading, enjoying her musical family, spending time with her two grandchildren, or finding a song lyric or movie quote for every conceivable situation. She looks forward to meeting with you soon!
