Sometimes life piles up slowly—small stressors, silent doubts, relationships that feel off, or changes you didn’t ask for but now have to navigate. Other times, it all hits at once: the panic, the sadness, the loneliness, the sense that something just isn’t working anymore. Whether you’re in the thick of it or feeling the slow unravel, therapy can be a space to pause, take stock, and figure out what you need next—without pressure to have it all figured out.
I’m Katie (she/her), a licensed social worker who brings a calming but active, curious, authentic, and supportive with just the right amount of directness to therapy. I work with older teens, young adults, and adults 60+ who are ready to feel more equipped, less alone, and more confident in navigating life’s complexities. I bring a steady presence to sessions– gentle and grounded, with a perspective that leans a little older than I look.
Whether you’re facing a tough transition, wrestling with anxiety or depression, exploring identity questions, managing relationship challenges, or coping with chronic illness or mood disorders like bipolar or psychosis—I’m here to walk with you through it. I take a collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy. That means you get to set the tone and pace, and I meet you with compassion, consistency, and strategies that actually can be applied in real life. I often use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches to help you develop coping skills, manage emotions, and build a more confident relationship with yourself.
I’m especially passionate about working with clients who have been dismissed or misunderstood in other systems—whether due to chronic illness, invisible mental health symptoms, or navigating life stages that are often minimized. I believe in normalizing the need for support, challenging the stigma that therapy is only for crisis, and creating a space where you feel respected and truly seen.
Therapy with me might include identifying patterns that keep you stuck, practicing new communication strategies, building emotional awareness, or learning how to care for yourself in ways that feel sustainable. I will listen closely, reflect honestly, and I’m here to help you feel more grounded, capable, and connected.
We’ll work together to build self-understanding, self-compassion, and a sense of self-efficacy— find clarity in the chaos, humor when it helps, and growth that feels real and not rushed. Therapy isn’t about becoming a different version of you. It’s about becoming more fully who you already are. If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, reach out today. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you begin the next chapter of your story.
