Kate believes that healing comes through connection. Through connection with others and connection with self, you can defeat the shame, anger, or hurt that so often drive how we think and act. Kate works with clients together toward their goals, identifying and building on their strengths so that clients themselves can access their own problem-solving abilities to live a more fulfilled life.
Kate has master’s degrees in social work and in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Kate has experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting, an outpatient medical setting in which she provided support to people and caregivers dealing with cancer and sickle cell diagnoses, and in doing private practice therapy with adults of varied ages going through life transitions. Prior to becoming a social worker, Kate worked with international students both in the U.S. and abroad, and credits these experiences with helping her form the open minded, nonjudgmental, and curious perspective she takes in session with clients now.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys watching movies from all over the world, treating herself to the joy of an afternoon coffee on the weekends, and eating and laughing with friends and family.
