Katarina is a licensed mental health counselor who earned her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. She has experience working with a diverse population of children, teens and adults within school-based, in-home, and outpatient clinic settings.
Katarina utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play Therapy, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Central to Katarina’s therapeutic philosophy is her commitment to practicing with unconditional positive regard for each client. Her priority is to create a nonjudgmental therapeutic space where clients can feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences with confidence and trust.
Katarina’s therapeutic approach is founded on the belief that counseling is a collaborative process with clients considered the experts of their own lives. Within this framework, clients are empowered to use their strengths and skills to promote growth and positive change.
