Kamise is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MT 4340) with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She has been in the field for 14 years and has a passion for supporting children, teens, adults and their families. She enjoys working with individuals and families to navigate the challenges of life, whether they are personal, with family, or with peers. Areas of specialty include coping with trauma and abuse, relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, parenting issues, anger management, coping with life changes, ADHD, blended family issues, family problems, loneliness, self-love, communication, coaching, caregiver issues and care, marital issues, women’s issues, young adult issues & career difficulties. Kamise works from a systemic, collaborative, strength-based therapeutic approach to help clients acknowledge the various unique contexts which impact their lives and connect with their strengths. She collaborates with clients to identify and enlist their internal strengths and resources to approach life’s challenges. She strives to assist clients and their families process emotions and learn coping skills to deal with everyday stressors and decrease symptoms. With the necessary tools and skills at their disposal it is easier for clients to identify triggers, notice warning signs, and find ways to better prepare for oncoming stressors and challenges. Kamise sees the client as the true “expert” in their own life and she sees herself as a guide and mentor along the way. She likes to use humor and be authentic and genuine in the therapy process. Her empathy and warmth help to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can process and heal.
