Jordan Harakal, LPC

Therapist

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Jordan is passionate about creating a safe space for clients to feel at ease with her. She sees importance in helping others by being open and approachable, and valuing the significance of humor in the therapy setting. Jordan completed her undergraduate degree from Penn State, and went on to obtain her Master’s in Counseling from Chatham University. Jordan enjoys working with teens to adults. She has experience working with suicidality, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, divorce, relationship issues, loss of identity, and more. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality. She really enjoys weaving Motivational Interviewing and Strength-Based methods into treatment, and tends to utilize a client-centered approach.

Prior to working with Ellie Mental Health, Jordan worked with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a Research Project Coordinator for a study specializing in suicidality and suicide prevention. During her time there, she worked with adolescents and their families, administering assessments, managing safety of study participants, and providing resources in mental health wellness.

Jordan is an avid animal lover and has always been interested in the ways that animals can be included in a therapy setting. She is a Pittsburgh native, and when not working, you can find her at the barn with her horse, Tiki, out on a walk around town (usually with a dog), at a Pittsburgh sports event, or reading a good book in Schenley park.
