Jodie Miller, MA, LPC

Therapist

Jodie is a seasoned counselor with 27 years of experience supporting clients through some of life’s most profound transitions and identity‑shaping moments. He works with individuals ages 16 and up, with a primary focus on queer and trans communities, people in alternative lifestyles, polyamorous relationships, and those navigating complex personal or relational choices. He offers both in‑person and virtual sessions, creating accessible pathways for care that meet clients where they are.

Jodie specializes in coming‑out experiences, questions of gender identity, transition, and authentic gender expression. He also frequently supports clients who are questioning or leaving their religious backgrounds, as well as those managing mood disturbances or struggling with life direction, relationship shifts, or lifestyle exploration. His work with individuals and couples is grounded in deep respect for autonomy and the lived realities of each person’s chosen path.

Central to Jodie’s counseling philosophy is the belief that liberation—not safety—is what the psyche truly needs. He emphasizes that efforts to stay “psychologically safe” often activate fight‑or‑flight responses that restrict a person’s freedom. Because the soul cannot be harmed in the way the body can, he believes that striving for safety can trap individuals in patterns that sacrifice authenticity, fulfillment, and self‑sovereignty. His approach instead invites clients into a process of expanding their internal freedom, embracing personal truth, and reclaiming the parts of themselves that have been constrained by fear, expectation, or past conditioning.

Through a blend of compassion, clarity, and genuine curiosity, Jodie helps clients step into their fullest expression of themselves.
