Joanne Requijo, MS, LPC, NCC

Therapist

“Counseling is a passion and not just a job. To be able to help others is to have compassion, patience, and kindness. To love what you do makes you do it well”.

My name is Joanne M. Requijo, and I have a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology with a focus on Clinical Mental Health. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Alabama and Georgia. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have worked in several facilities and private practices doing individual, marriage, couples, and group therapy, working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. I have worked in the Mental Health and Substance Abuse field for over 20 years. To me, being a counselor means to “practice what you teach.” I practice every day what I teaches others in my professional life and personal life. I am passionate about what I do, and I try my best to give the highest quality care I can to my patients. I am an avid long-distance runner and loves various physical exercises including yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, hiking, and cycling. I also enjoy several hobbies such as painting, gourmet cooking, baking, wood working and reading different types of research.
