Jess is a native transplant (yes, she coined the term as she was born in Arizona, moved to Kansas, and has since relocated back to Arizona). She has committed her life to helping others, in some fashion or another. Jess received her Bachelor of Psychology from Washburn University where she specialized in Geriatric Psychology and End of Life care. Jess has had extensive experience working with individuals who are experiencing difficult transitions in life. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Jess has experience working with adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, depression disorders, trauma related disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, and grief. She has a passion for working with late adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Jess approaches each individual from a person-centered perspective, believing that everyone holds the capability to make positive changes that are fitting for each life circumstance. Her preferred modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.
In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Salvy and Dozier, watching football (GO CHIEFS), or spending time outside with her partner, as long as it’s not during the Arizona summer!
