I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work with individual adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression. My therapeutic approach is to meet you where you are with your current challenge and work collaboratively with you. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps clients to examine why they think the way they do. The goal is to develop new strategies that bring clients hope. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps clients develop greater psychological flexibility.
I worked in the entertainment industry before returning to school to pursue a master’s degree in Psychology. I like people. I am always happy to see each client. Each person is a different story. Therapy should not be painful. I am very honest and like developing a strong dialogue with each client. I have a sense of humor. I think that is imperative in this life. Our challenges can be tough, and it is okay to laugh when nothing else will do. I learn from each client. I am humbled by this work.
There is always more to learn for both myself and my clients. Goal setting is important. It speaks to what the client is experiencing when I first meet them. It is something I like to revisit as I get to know clients. Your goals can be completed and added to as we work towards accomplishing them.
