Janet Cuevas is a bilingual Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She specializes in working with children and adolescents navigating challenges related to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disorders, and Anxiety.
With a warm, client-centered approach, Janet integrates Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to create a safe and engaging space where children and adolescents can express themselves, explore emotions, and develop essential coping skills. She tailors evidence-based interventions to each client’s developmental stage and unique needs, empowering them to build resilience and enhance their overall well-being.
Janet also supports young adults as they transition into adulthood, using the same compassionate and skills-based approach to help them navigate academic, career, and personal challenges. She provides guidance in developing executive functioning skills, managing anxiety, and fostering self-advocacy, to ensure they feel confident and prepared for the next stages of their lives.
Janet also collaborates closely with families, providing education, resources, and support to foster strong therapeutic relationships. She is passionate about helping young individuals recognize their strengths, build self-confidence, and develop the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges. Committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, Janet strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families she serves.
Outside of her work, Janet enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting new places and enjoys live music.
