Janet (Jan) Chamberlain is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field.

Jan graduated from University of North Texas with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Education Psychology, graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English, and clocked 72 doctoral class hours in Health Psychology from Walden University.

Jan has worked in the mental health field in various capacities from individual private practice settings to managed care. She has experience working one-on-one and in group settings with adult patients in the areas of depression/general anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, debilitating and terminal illnesses including HIV disease, grief, and general mental health issues. Among her experiences, Jan has concentrated working with members of the LGBTQ community.

As an LPC-S, Jan can supervise LPC Interns as they perform their required practicum counseling hours.

In her career, Jan has provided therapy, facilitated groups, presented on various mental health topics, and has held both roles as a provider and in leadership.

Jan’s approach to therapy is Person-Centered believing in unconditional positive regard, congruence, and genuineness.

Jan has lived in the DFW Texas area most of her life. She is a bona fide sci-fi nerd attending clubs and aid organization events raising money for North Texas Food Banks and other charities. Jan’s greatest passions are animals and pet companions.
