Jamie Povich, LCMHC-A

Therapist

Pronouns: she/her

Jamie mainly has experience working in a college setting, but is passionate about working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Jamie currently works with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults to work towards goals set by clients and promote mental well-being. She emphasizes creating a safe and open environment in which the client feels comfortable exploring themselves and building a trusting therapeutic relationship where authenticity is seen from both sides. Jamie has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality issues, relationship issues, and trauma. She values meeting the client where they are at and works from a strengths-based lens, emphasizing and building upon aspects the client already does well. Her approach would be described as person-centered, while also pulling from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), existentialism, and narrative techniques.

In her free time, Jamie enjoys going on walks, doing arts and crafts, watching movies, playing with her cat, and cheering on the Tarheels!
