Grace Leader, MHC

Therapist

At the heart of therapy lies the heart of the client, a person willing to take that first step. I believe each person fosters a level of resilience, capable of growth and renewal even amidst the toil of doubt, pain, and struggle. Together, we tend to this , gently uprooting what hinders progress, addressing the foundation, and helping you to blossom.

Therapy is an art , a nuance of connection, patience, and presence. It is intentional work grounded in the beauty of recognizing self. It is a space where authenticity blooms, where your truth is honored with compassion and understanding. I meet you exactly where you are, listening deeply and walking alongside you as we explore the landscapes of your experience. In this space, genuine change flows from the courage to be real, to be seen, and to be heard and that in itself is the art of being human.

I am a provisionally licensed mental health counselor. I have a background from the University at Albany , earning my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business Administration and my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I bring experience from integrated behavioral and substance use outpatient clinics with expertise in complex trauma, self esteem and identity issues, addiction issues, coping with chronic pain and terminal illness, anxiety, depression, grief, anger and stress management, couples and romantic partner issues, relational issues, and navigating life’s ongoing challenges with an understanding of a range of complex mental health diagnoses.

While I incorporate a range of evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, I believe that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor our work to fit your unique story, goals, and the authenticity you may wish to reconnect with, foster, or perhaps create from scratch. I understand that each story is woven with unique threads of culture and experience which I honor with humility and attentive insight.

My approach is culturally competent, intentional, and rooted in creating a safe, nurturing space where vulnerability is met with empathy. I am here to encourage you that healing is not far-fetched nor a single destination but rather a change of perception and a willingness to nurture your mind and I will walk alongside you as we navigate that process.

Whether you’re  navigating life transitions, healing inner wounds, or cultivating deeper self-awareness, I invite you to schedule a session today.  Together, we will honor your journey of the past, seek understanding in the now , and guide you toward greater alignment for the future.
