Fred is a compassionate and experienced therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. He specializes in working with adults and couples facing life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD and CPTSD, aging issues, shame, addiction, and other adjustment concerns. Fred’s journey into counseling was inspired by his 23 years of involvement with Victories of the Heart, an organization dedicated to helping men with personal growth, which led to a later-in-life career change.
Fred takes a heart-to-heart, deeply connected approach to therapy, helping clients explore their most authentic selves while navigating the complexities of being human. He is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and uses a holistic, Person-Centered approach in conjunction with tools from CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. He believes that all parts of you are welcome, even the ones you may try to push away, and his therapeutic style fosters self-acceptance and personal growth.
Outside of work, Fred enjoys music, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and stand-up comedy, using these passions to stay grounded and add humor to life’s challenges. He is also a cigar aficionado, enjoying them as a means of self-care and relaxation.
