Elizabeth Russell (she/her). I am a cisgender biracial woman; a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner who primarily works with adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, challenging transitions or life stressors, trauma, grief, and/or those working to change/address alcohol and substance use, or prevent relapse.
My approach to therapy is a combination of person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness based approaches. What this means to me is that therapy primarily works by providing a nonjudgmental space to allow for empathy and understanding while we establish our own sense of meaning and authenticity. Utilizing CBT can address distressful thoughts and feelings and intentionally change and understand our behaviors.
I am genuinely interested in being a participant in your story and helping you meet your goals whatever they may be.
