Dana Houston-Jones, LMSW

Therapist

Dana brings more than 10 years of experience as a school social worker to her work as a therapist, along with a deep, ongoing commitment to supporting women through every stage of life. Her clinical background includes domestic violence work, and her practice today centers on the issues she’s most passionate about: women’s mental health, motherhood, and the messy, beautiful, exhausting reality of trying to hold it all together.

She has a particular soft spot for moms navigating burnout, women figuring out a late ADHD diagnosis (yes, it explains a lot), and anyone working through the lingering effects of trauma. She’s currently pursuing certification in perinatal mood disorders, and engaging in professional learning around somatic practices and nervous system psychoeducation — because sometimes the body knows what the mind hasn’t caught up to yet.

Clinically, she draws on CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, and mindfulness, all wrapped in a trauma-informed approach. Personally, she draws on humor — a lot of it. Dana firmly believes that if you can’t laugh at the absurdity of life sometimes, you’ll just cry, and crying is more fun when there’s a little comic relief mixed in. Her sessions are real, occasionally irreverent, and never, ever clinical-feeling in the sterile sense.

She’s approachable, prefers honesty over performative positivity, and genuinely non-judgmental — whatever you’re bringing to the room, she’s ready for it.
