Colene Belmont, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Therapist

Colene is a warm, compassionate therapist who works with children and adolescents as they navigate big feelings, life changes, and growing identities. She believes therapy should feel safe, welcoming, and even a little creative, especially for young people who may not always have the words for what they’re experiencing.

Colene uses developmentally appropriate, creative approaches like play, art, storytelling, and conversation to help kids and teens express themselves, build coping skills, and better understand their emotions. She creates an affirming and nonjudgmental space where clients can show up as they are, with special care for LGBTQIA+ youth and those feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. She also values collaboration with caregivers and believes kids do best when the adults in their lives feel supported too.

Outside of sessions, Colene enjoys spending time with her family, being creative, and finding small moments of rest and connection: things she believes are just as important for emotional well-being as the work done in therapy.
