Claudia Rivera-Gruvis, Master's in Mental Health Counseling

Therapist

I’m a mental health counselor who believes that every person is the expert of their own story. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, reflection, and a space where healing feels possible. I take a client-centered, trauma-informed approach, always honoring where you are in your journey and the strengths you already hold. I often draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), and strength-based work to support you in stepping into your own power.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from Clark University and my master’s degree in Mental Health and Counseling from New York University. I have experience supporting clients through moments of change, uncertainty, and self-discovery, with a focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, family dynamics, and domestic violence.
Outside of therapy, you can find me baking, trying out new fitness classes, reading a good book, or spending time outdoors.
