Cheryl is skilled in implementing evidence-based practices, providing multi-systemic therapy in the home, and offering culturally sensitive counseling. She also specializes in helping minors who are navigating trauma, abuse, and familial challenges.
As a woman of color and a first-generation American, Cheryl brings a deeply empathetic and authentic presence to her work. She is passionate about supporting clients from multicultural backgrounds, helping them cultivate a strong sense of identity while honoring cultural differences and individuality. Cheryl is dedicated to working alongside clients as they navigate challenges related to systemic racism and cultural biases, fostering a safe and nurturing environment where they feel seen and understood.
Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary modality, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
Cheryl earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy University and has worked in diverse behavioral health settings, including residential treatment, intensive in-home family therapy, preventive services, crisis counseling for unaccompanied migrant children, community substance use intervention, and private practice. She is proud to offer services in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for a wider range of individuals and families.
