Hamp is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina with over 30 years of experience. Throughout his career he has worked with diverse populations and issues. He brings an easy-going and accepting style of connecting with others. He believes in meeting his clients wherever they are in their journey through life, helping them to determine where they want to go, and then assisting, planning, and cheerleading them to their desired outcome.
Confidentiality and wanting the client to feel safe and not judged is a key component to success in his therapy style. Hamp’s therapeutic approach centers primarily around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but includes aspects of Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Reality Therapy. However, Hamp is adept at integrating a variety of approaches, when appropriate, that will benefit his clients. Each of his selected strategies rest on the most recent evidence-based treatment modalities.
Hamp specializes in working with clients 15 years of age and up, with anxiety, mood disorders, stress issues from work or personal experiences, relationship concerns of all types (marital, dating, family, personal), parenting, codependency, divorce, self-esteem, abuse, men’s issues, anger mgt., life transitions, grief issues, and can work from a faith-based perspective. Hamp sees individuals, couples, and families.
