Catherine “Cate” Brown, LSW, CADC

Therapist

Families are at the heart of my work. I help kids, parents, couples, and individuals strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and build healthier patterns that make life feel lighter and more connected.

I love supporting children, young adults, and parents who are navigating the challenges of family life. Many of the families I work with include kids or adults who are neurodivergent or learning to understand their unique needs. I also help parents build confidence, manage stress, and find new ways to connect and support their children while staying grounded themselves.

I’ve also worked closely with first responders and helping professionals who carry the stress of caring for others. That experience shaped how I approach therapy—with an understanding that even the strongest people need a space to rest, process, and rebuild.

Couples often come to me wanting to reconnect, communicate more effectively, or feel like they’re on the same team again. Therapy can help you find understanding, repair trust, and rediscover what drew you together in the first place.

In my work, I draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing. These tools help clients manage anxiety, build emotional awareness, and make meaningful progress toward their goals. My style is collaborative, supportive, and direct—I believe in being real with my clients while helping them feel safe, seen, and capable of change.

Outside of therapy, I’m a mom, a pet lover, and a big fan of quiet nights in with my family and a good video game. I believe joy and connection are powerful parts of healing, and I love helping families and couples rediscover those moments for themselves.
