Brian Taylor, LAPC

Therapist

Brian (they/them) is driven towards the cessation of suffering through self-advocacy and collective action. They have spent over a decade working in community-health, engaging in service of marginalized communities, working-class individuals, people living with disability, and the intersections therein. Brian received their master’s degree in the Counseling Psychology Master’s Program at Temple University and provides a combination of person-centered psychodynamic therapy with buddhist psychology. An average session could entail mindfulness-based techniques coupled with strategies around acceptance and commitment to address daily strifes through stress management, emotional regulation, goal setting, cultivating new habits, and/or working through old patterns of thought/behavior which no longer serve the client. Over time we work to integrate curious-analysis of the systems we participate in with accepting-introspection. We investigate and appreciate how an individual’s lived experiences and environmental factors directly inform their present circumstances and how this framing can open novel opportunities of approach. Utilizing harm-reduction and strength-building we engage in a shared space to heal and shape change. Together we strive to cultivate empowerment and forge a path toward contentment, fulfillment, and liberation.
