Life can be challenging and the additional obstacles of change, strong emotions and a lack of a sense of control can make the challenge feel overwhelming. I partner with people to help them learn skills to overcome or manage these obstacles in order to feel a better sense of control and resilience.
In 2009, I began my career working with adults struggling with addictions and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety with a family systems perspective. In 2012, I began working with adolescents, children and families, as a school-based therapist addressing challenges related to ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression and executive-functioning skills deficits. In 2019, I returned to working to adults as well, in a private-practice setting, focusing on adults dealing with depression, anxiety and problems in their relationships.
I strongly believe in empowering those with whom I work to feel strong and able to handle obstacles in life. My approach is client and family centered, focused on evidenced based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy. I utilize dialectical behavioral techniques and mindfulness strategies as well. I have therapeutic interests in the areas of parenting and family issues and clinical areas of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression and anxiety.
