Ben Nelson, A-LPC-MHSP

Therapist

Ben Nelson, A-LPC-MHSP helps clients move beyond simply coping toward building meaningful, values-driven lives. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Ben works collaboratively with clients to explore the roots of their struggles and develop practical tools for lasting change.

He has experience supporting individuals dealing with many mental health concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance issues, and issues related to sexual behavior. A U.S. Air Force veteran, husband, father of four, and foster parent, Ben brings a grounded, relatable presence to the therapy space. Outside the office, he embraces a variety of hobbies and philosophical curiosity—whether that’s unwinding with video games, engaging in strategic board games, lifting weights, or exploring big questions about meaning, identity, and human behavior.

Ben also believes that artistic expression is an important part of life and he uses various mediums such as drawing, painting, playing music, and writing. These interests often inform his therapeutic style, helping clients connect abstract concepts to real-world action in an approachable, down-to-earth way.
