Ayanna Fowler (she, her, hers) is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Rutgers University. Ayanna believes in the multifaceted nature of individuals and utilizes a person-centered approach to create integrative therapy experiences. She employs techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness to meet the unique needs of her clients. With experience in both individual and group counseling across a wide age range, Ayanna has clinical expertise in treating depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, head and brain injuries, bereavement, and post-traumatic stress disorder, among others. She is passionate about eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health and is committed to supporting individuals as they courageously seek therapeutic services.
In her personal time, Ayanna enjoys writing poetry, traveling, reading, and engaging in community volunteer support. She believes that empathy, active listening, cultural competence, and open-mindedness are essential qualities that foster strong client-counselor rapport. Often described as having a calling for “acts of service,” Ayanna works passionately to provide care and support to her community.
