Life can move fast, and sometimes it feels like you’re expected to have everything figured out along the way. Kids are learning how to understand big emotions, teens are navigating identity and relationships while juggling school and social pressures, and adults are often balancing responsibilities while trying to take care of themselves too. Therapy can offer a place to pause, reflect, and build tools that make life feel a little more manageable.

Hi, I’m Anabel Monegro, a bilingual social worker who works with children (5+), teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship stress. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and creative. I believe therapy should feel like a supportive partnership where we work together toward the same goal—helping you feel more confident, capable, and connected to yourself and the people around you.

One of the most important things I want clients to know before starting therapy is that you don’t have to go through challenges alone. Therapy is not about someone “fixing” you. It’s about building a real connection and working together as a team. My goal is to connect with the person sitting across from me—not just the label of “client.” Whether we are working through tough emotions, learning new coping skills, or simply making sense of what’s going on in life, our work together is collaborative and focused on what feels most meaningful to you.

I have experience supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation difficulties, anger, and behavioral challenges. I also work with individuals who are struggling with self-esteem, family conflict, peer relationships, and relationship challenges within families or romantic partnerships. Much of my work focuses on helping clients better understand their emotions and develop healthier ways to respond to stress, conflict, and negative self-talk.

I’m particularly passionate about helping clients strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and create daily routines that support their well-being. Sometimes small changes—like improving sleep habits, creating structure in a schedule, or learning how to recognize emotional triggers—can have a big impact on how we experience life.

I especially enjoy working with kids, teens, and young people navigating identity and cultural experiences, including first-generation teens and BIPOC communities. I have experience supporting immigrants, first-generation families, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and able to bring their full selves into the room.

My therapeutic style blends person-centered therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. With younger clients, play therapy can help children express emotions in ways that feel natural and engaging. With teens and adults, we often focus on understanding patterns, building coping strategies, and strengthening emotional awareness so that challenges feel more manageable over time.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who loves exploring the world and finding joy in the little things. I’m a big animal lover—especially when it comes to my mini goldendoodle, Syla. I’m also a fan of video games (a little secret that isn’t actually that secret), spending time in nature, and planning my next travel adventure. When I’m not working, you might find me watching reality TV or baking something sweet—because yes, I absolutely have a sweet tooth.

These interests often help me connect with clients, especially kids and teens who appreciate a therapist who feels relatable and approachable while still providing meaningful support.

My hope is that clients leave therapy with greater self-confidence, stronger communication skills, and practical strategies they can use when life feels overwhelming. I want clients to feel more aware of their emotions, more connected to their strengths, and better equipped to navigate challenges with resilience and motivation.

Whether you’re seeking support for your child, navigating challenges as a teen, or looking for a space to focus on your own growth as an adult, therapy can be a powerful step forward. I’d welcome the opportunity to work alongside you as we take those steps together.
