Sometimes things don’t feel as steady as they used to. You might notice more stress, stronger emotions, or patterns that are hard to break. Maybe your child is having a hard time expressing what they need, or you’re finding yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of where to start. Therapy can be a space to slow down, feel supported, and begin to understand what’s underneath—at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Hi, I’m Allie Klappert. I work with children (7+), teens, young adults, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, relationship stress, and concerns around self-esteem and identity. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe that every person’s experiences make sense in the context of what they’ve been through, and therapy is a place to explore those experiences with curiosity, compassion, and care.
One of the most important things I want clients to know is that therapy is not something you go through alone—it’s something we do together. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I focus on creating a space where you or your child feel safe, respected, and supported enough to be honest—even when things feel messy, confusing, or difficult. We move at your pace, always.
In our work together, I take a curious and collaborative approach to understanding patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses. Many of the challenges we experience today are connected to earlier experiences, core beliefs, or ways we’ve learned to cope over time. Rather than labeling these as “problems,” I see them as adaptations that once served a purpose. Together, we work to understand those patterns and gently build new ways of responding that feel more aligned with who you are and where you want to go.
I integrate a variety of approaches including play therapy, art-based interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, polyvagal-informed strategies, and EMDR. These approaches support both insight and skill-building—helping you better understand your internal experiences while also developing practical tools to regulate emotions, manage stress, and navigate relationships. With younger clients, I often incorporate games, creativity, and movement to make therapy engaging and accessible. With teens and adults, we focus on building awareness, strengthening coping strategies, and fostering a sense of agency and confidence.
I’m especially passionate about helping clients explore core beliefs, develop healthier boundaries, and strengthen their ability to communicate their needs. I also focus on the mind-body connection—helping clients recognize how emotions show up physically and learning ways to respond that feel grounding and supportive rather than overwhelming.
Outside of therapy, I value creativity, connection, and balance. I’m a big Swiftie, love spending time outdoors hiking, exploring new coffee shops, and keeping up with reality TV (yes—Bachelor and Love is Blind included). I also enjoy baking—cookies and muffins are my go-to, and sourdough is next on my list. I find that these parts of who I am help me connect with clients in a way that feels authentic and relatable.
My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling more empowered, more self-aware, and more confident in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. I want you to feel supported in understanding your experiences, building meaningful coping skills, and creating change in a way that feels sustainable. Therapy isn’t about fixing who you are—it’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity and self-compassion.
If you’re considering therapy for yourself or your child, I’d be glad to work alongside you as we navigate that process together.
