Alison is a licensed associate counselor who utilizes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to therapy as a way to gain a better understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Alison has experience working in community behavioral health and university counseling settings, wherein she has had the opportunity to work with individuals and families of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. Alison believes that all of her clients are the expert of themselves and she strives to collaboratively work together with you to tailor a treatment approach that best suits your unique needs and aspirations. She seeks to create a safe and warm environment in the therapy office, offering a space to be yourself. Alison is passionate about working with those identifying with the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals working through life transitions (i.e., starting a new chapter of life, entering into adulthood, changing family dynamics, starting college), and those looking to begin processing generational trauma in a safe space as well as navigating symptoms of anxiety and depression. She uses a person-centered approach to therapy, emphasizing genuineness, unconditional positive regard, and a strong therapeutic rapport between therapist and client throughout all therapy sessions. As well as pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques to create a unique treatment plan fostering a sense of growth and self-awareness.
