Alex is an empathetic therapist who works to empower her clients to identify and achieve the change they want to see in their lives. She approaches her work with openness and authenticity, believing that the effectiveness of therapy is strongly determined by the relationship between therapist and client. She holds the viewpoint that each person ultimately knows what’s best for them and what they want, and that her role is to help them in the journey of this discovery.
Alex views the world from a systems perspective, believing that we are all interconnected with each other and the systems around us, and that we all pay a role in these various systems. She uses an emotion-focused approach with her clients, draws on tenets of attachment theory and challenges unhelpful ways of thinking. Alex has experience working with individuals, couples, and families between the ages of 6-60. She has worked with individuals of various ethnic and racial backgrounds, as well as with those identifying as LGBTQ+.
When she is not at work, Alex enjoys spending time with her cat Leo and dog Penny, and being outdoors as much as she can.
