Mario was born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador. Mario earned an undergraduate degree in psychology in El Salvador before moving to Saint Louis, Missouri to study a masters degree in counseling.
Mario is an LPC in the state of Missouri. Mario has previous experience working for non-profit organizations focusing on school counseling and also with adolescents and adults who experience substance abuse problems. Mario practices therapy from a person center humanistic perspective. Mario’s core values in therapy are to encourage and practice mutual honesty and respect by meeting each client where they are at.
Mario has experience working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and trauma. Mario has experience implementing CBT, Person Center Approach, Motivational Interview and Solution Focus Approach.
Mario enjoys spending time with his family, watching Netflix, traveling, meeting new people, loves watching soccer games at home or at the stadium. Mario values deep, meaningful and honest conversations about different topics.
