April uses a person-centered approach where the client is the expert of themselves and their unique story matters. She is passionate about holding a space for all identities to feel seen and heard, drawing from CBT, IFS, and Narrative therapy approaches alongside art therapy from a trauma-informed perspective. As an art therapist, she incorporates art materials not to focus on artistic skill, but to express what can sometimes be difficult to say. She is passionate about the power of the imagination and creativity used in a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere for self-discovery, emotional regulation, and healing. In free time, she enjoys making art, studying astrology, and playing with her dog Daisy.
