Jeanette Garza, Licensed Professional Counselor

Therapist

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns they’re ready to change. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable, supported, and understood — without pressure or judgment.

I work with adults, older teens, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Whether you’re dealing with something recent or something that’s been building for a long time, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while focusing on real, practical ways to help you feel better.

My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on real-life tools you can use right away, grounded in Person-Centered therapy and supported by evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques, and psychoeducational strategies. Together, we’ll work on understanding what’s happening, regulating difficult emotions, improving communication, and building coping tools you can actually use in everyday life.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cheering on Chicago sports teams, and relaxing with my cat, Daisy.
