Shelby is a Certified Social Worker currently working toward independent licensure. She earned both her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and holds certifications in Child Welfare.
Shelby has extensive experience as a Social Service Clinician, providing Family Preservation and Reunification Services with a specialized focus on co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She has also provided psychotherapy services within substance use treatment settings, supporting individuals through crisis intervention, stabilization, and the early stages of recovery. Her experience spans both children and adults, including expectant and postpartum parents.
Throughout her career, Shelby has worked with individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, trauma, and substance use challenges. She is committed to helping clients navigate life’s difficulties while building resilience and fostering meaningful, lasting change.
Shelby utilizes a trauma-informed, client-centered approach that integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment characterized by compassion, empathy, and individualized care. By partnering with clients to identify strengths and develop practical solutions, Shelby empowers each person to work toward their unique goals and improved well-being.
