About Kirstyn Smith
“Kirstyn Smith (she/her) is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) who earned both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work from Northern Kentucky University (NKU). She has experience providing outpatient and school-based therapy within the community mental health setting. Kirstyn has worked with individuals across a variety of needs, including substance use, independent living, case management, and children who have experienced trauma. She is comfortable working with children, adolescents, and adults and strives to meet each individual where they are.
Kirstyn takes a person-centered approach to help individuals feel safe, understood, and supported as they navigate their experiences. She incorporates approaches such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses and is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you or your child can feel heard, better understand what you are experiencing, and work toward meaningful change.
