Aika Jones, LCSW

Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinician Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing individual and family psychotherapy to promote emotional and behavioral health of children, adolescents, families, and adults.

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey to understand my clients’ unique, often challenging experiences and to recognize their values and strengths. I’m passionate about creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. My approach to therapy is integrative and eclectic, focusing on evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to empower them to make positive changes in their lives.

I began my career in the child welfare system as a Functional Family Therapist to keep families together while destabilizing crises including abuse, domestic violence, behavioral challenges, and the foster care/adoption system. I specialize in play-based Child Parent Psychotherapy to restore attachment and emotional regulation of young children (age 0-5) and their caregivers who have experienced trauma and stress. I’m also committed to helping parents understand and meet their child’s emotional needs through a relationship-focused approach, Circle of Security Parenting.

My extensive experience goes beyond young children, from school-aged children, adolescents, to adults who exhibit challenges related to ADHD, autism, other behavioral and emotional struggles, family or interpersonal relationship issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and difficulty adjusting to stress/life demands.
