Sometimes talking about what you’re going through isn’t easy. You may be carrying anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or the weight of a major life transition. Maybe you’re worried about your child or teenager, struggling to navigate family changes, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next.
Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Hi, I’m Becca Overlock, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual and family therapy in Littleton, Colorado. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that therapy should feel like a safe place to be yourself while developing meaningful tools for change.
And sometimes that safe space has four paws.
Animal-Assisted Therapy with Lucius
One of the unique parts of my practice is animal-assisted therapy with my therapy dog, Lucius. Lucius can join us during in-person sessions, providing a calming and supportive presence that may help clients feel more comfortable, grounded, and connected during therapy.
For some clients, having a dog in the room can make a difficult conversation feel a little less intimidating. For others, interacting with Lucius can provide opportunities to practice emotional regulation, connection, trust, mindfulness, and simply being present in the moment.
Animal-assisted therapy isn’t about replacing traditional psychotherapy. It’s about adding another source of connection and support to the therapeutic process when it’s a good fit for the client.
Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety & Life’s Challenges
I work with clients experiencing a wide range of mental and behavioral health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, stress, self-esteem concerns, ADHD, autism and neurodivergence, mood concerns, self-harm, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions.
I also have experience supporting clients navigating adoption and foster care, attachment concerns, family conflict, parenting and co-parenting, separation and divorce, reunification, domestic abuse, and recovery from sexual assault.
Trauma can affect the way we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where clients can explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable while developing skills to feel safer, more grounded, and more confident moving forward.
Supporting Individuals & Families
Mental health challenges rarely happen in isolation. Relationships, family dynamics, life experiences, work, school, identity, health, and major transitions can all influence how we feel and function.
I provide both individual therapy and family therapy, helping clients better understand patterns, strengthen communication, develop healthier coping strategies, and improve relationships.
I also welcome clients from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, including first responders, service members and veterans and their families, LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent clients, blended families, and individuals navigating parenting or relationship changes.
My goal is to provide care that respects each client’s identity, experiences, values, strengths, and goals.
What Therapy With Me Looks Like
There isn’t one therapy approach that works for everyone. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular therapy model.
Depending on your needs and goals, I may draw from evidence-based and client-centered approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Animal-Assisted Therapy.
Our work may involve understanding patterns that are keeping you stuck, processing difficult experiences, learning emotional regulation and coping skills, strengthening relationships, building self-confidence, or finding new ways to respond to challenges.
Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to arrive knowing exactly what needs to change.
Finding the Right Therapist Matters
The relationship you have with your therapist matters. My goal is to create an environment where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and comfortable enough to show up as yourself.
Whether you’re searching for an anxiety or trauma therapist in Littleton, CO, looking for family therapy, interested in animal-assisted therapy, or simply trying to find a therapist who feels like the right fit, I would be honored to support you.
I offer both in-person therapy in Littleton and virtual therapy, giving clients flexibility in how they receive care.
And if having Lucius nearby makes taking that first step a little easier, he’ll be happy to welcome you too.
