About Tammy Montemurro

Tammy Montemurro is a clinical mental health counseling intern at Ellie Mental Health. She is completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds a master’s degree in Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Tammy also brings professional experience in behavioral health care management, advocacy, crisis intervention, and connecting individuals and families with meaningful support and resources.

Tammy works with clients across the lifespan and is passionate about supporting children, teens, adults, and families through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. She has a particular interest in helping children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, providing a safe and supportive space to process difficult experiences, build emotional awareness, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen their sense of safety and self-worth. Tammy also supports women navigating perimenopause and menopause, including changes in mood, anxiety, identity, relationships, sleep, and overall well-being.

Tammy believes counseling begins with creating a space where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered, incorporating cognitive behavioral strategies, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s individual needs. She is committed to helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship and family concerns, caregiver fatigue, life transitions, and the emotional changes that can accompany different stages of life.

Tammy understands that reaching out for support can feel difficult, and she strives to provide a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment for clients of all ages. She views counseling as a partnership and is committed to helping clients and families recognize their strengths, develop practical coping skills, build resilience, and move toward greater healing and well-being—one conversation at a time.
