About Yolanda Huerta-Ramirez

Relationships shape so much of who we are. From the families we grow up in, to the relationships we build as adults, to the ways we care for our children and ourselves, those connections often influence how we experience stress, healing, and growth. Sometimes life leaves us feeling disconnected—from the people we love, from our own emotions, or even from ourselves. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, understand those patterns, and begin creating healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.

Hi, I’m Yolanda Huerta, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I work with children (5+), teens, adults, couples, and families, and I’m proud to provide therapy in both English and Spanish. Whether I’m supporting a child through emotional or behavioral challenges, helping parents strengthen family relationships, guiding a couple through communication difficulties, or working alongside an adult navigating anxiety or life transitions, my goal is always the same—to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like a true partnership. Every individual and every family has unique strengths, traditions, and experiences that deserve to be understood rather than assumed. My role is to help you explore those experiences with curiosity and compassion while identifying the patterns that may be contributing to current challenges. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.

As a marriage and family therapist, I naturally view concerns through a family systems lens. Our relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences often shape how we communicate, respond to stress, and connect with others. Whether we’re exploring parenting challenges, couple dynamics, intergenerational relationships, or personal growth, I enjoy helping clients better understand how these experiences influence their lives while discovering healthier ways to move forward.

My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, behavioral concerns in children and adolescents, relationship challenges, life stage transitions, postpartum and perinatal mental health, infertility, parenting support, and family conflict. I especially enjoy working with couples and families who are looking to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, and develop stronger emotional connections. I also have a passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and other significant life transitions.

As a bilingual therapist, I have experience working with Hispanic individuals and families, including first- and second-generation clients navigating cultural expectations, identity, and family relationships. I understand that culture often plays an important role in how we communicate, express emotions, seek support, and define family. My goal is to provide a culturally responsive environment where clients feel respected, understood, and comfortable bringing their whole selves into therapy.

My approach is collaborative, creative, and individualized. With children, I often incorporate play, sand tray, and expressive techniques to help them communicate emotions in ways that feel natural and developmentally appropriate. With teens, adults, couples, and families, I tailor therapy to meet each person’s goals while helping clients strengthen communication, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier boundaries, and develop practical skills they can apply outside of our sessions.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking walks outdoors, traveling, discovering new restaurants, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with my dog, Ginger. I’m also a fan of K-Pop and have a soft spot for Belgian chocolate after traveling abroad. These experiences remind me how important it is to make room for joy, connection, and curiosity—even during life’s busiest seasons.

My hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling a little lighter than when they arrived. I want clients to leave with practical tools, stronger relationships, healthier communication skills, and greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges. Most importantly, I hope you leave with a renewed sense of hope—knowing that meaningful change is possible and that you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, therapy can be the beginning of stronger connections and lasting growth. I would be glad to partner with you as we work toward the goals that matter most to you.
