About Shannon Maynard
Shannon was drawn to the field of social work through her passion for helping others feel less alone in the experiences they navigate throughout life. She believes therapy can be a space to better understand ourselves, work through challenges, and create meaningful change. Shannon has primarily worked with children and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional regulation and interpersonal concerns. Her clinical approach is strengths-based and integrates various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Her goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and empowered in working toward their goals. With a background in kinesiology, Shannon values the connection between physical and mental well being and emphasizes this in her work. Outside of the workplace, she enjoys exercising, reading, and writing. She also loves attending sports games and being with friends and family.
