Hi, I’m Ruby Rizwan—a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes every relationship deserves the chance to heal, grow, and thrive. Life and love can get complicated, and sometimes we lose connection with the people who matter most. My work focuses on helping couples, families, and individuals rebuild trust, communicate openly, and find balance in the middle of life’s chaos.
I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, combining proven techniques with genuine warmth and cultural sensitivity. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make real, lasting change. Therapy with me is collaborative and nonjudgmental—it’s a space where you can show up as your full self and explore what’s standing in the way of the connection and peace you deserve.
💬 Who I Work With
I work with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, or major life transitions. Many of my clients come to me seeking help with:
Relationship & Marital Challenges – Repairing communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening intimacy.
Family Conflict & Parenting Stress – Navigating family roles, co-parenting challenges, and generational patterns.
Anxiety & Depression – Finding calm, clarity, and renewed purpose through practical, compassionate strategies.
Post-Traumatic Stress & Emotional Healing – Helping clients process painful experiences and rediscover safety and resilience.
Women’s Issues & Self-Esteem – Supporting women as they navigate identity, boundaries, and personal growth.
I also have a strong background in education and parenting, and I love helping parents strengthen their relationships with their children while maintaining self-compassion and balance.
🧠 How I Work
My therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy—always tailored to the individual or couple I’m working with. I focus on helping clients identify unhelpful patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop healthy communication skills that make relationships stronger and more resilient.
For couples, that means learning to listen deeply and speak honestly, even when it’s hard. For individuals, it means uncovering the beliefs and behaviors that keep you feeling stuck—and replacing them with self-compassion, confidence, and balance.
I also bring a mind-body perspective to therapy, encouraging clients to explore how emotions show up physically and how mindful awareness can support healing. Sometimes that means practicing grounding techniques; other times, it means simply learning to pause and breathe.
🌿 Culturally Responsive, Holistic Care
As a bilingual therapist fluent in Urdu and Hindi, I’m deeply passionate about serving diverse and multicultural communities. My background allows me to support clients navigating identity, generational, or cross-cultural challenges with empathy and understanding.
I also integrate holistic and values-based approaches to therapy—because healing isn’t just about managing symptoms; it’s about nurturing your emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being. Whether we’re talking about family, faith, or the everyday stress of modern life, I’m here to help you connect those pieces into a fuller, more peaceful picture.
💪 A Little About My Journey
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in education and family advocacy, supporting children, teens, and caregivers through emotional and behavioral challenges. That experience taught me that growth happens when people feel safe, heard, and believed in—and I bring that belief into every session.
I’ve also facilitated parent education programs, trauma recovery workshops, and support groups focused on empowerment and emotional resilience. My goal is always to help clients feel equipped, confident, and connected—to themselves and to those around them.
❤️ My Philosophy
Therapy is not about judgment—it’s about curiosity, healing, and growth. I approach every session with empathy, humor, and authenticity. Together, we’ll look at what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to shift to help you build the life and relationships you want.
I believe small changes can create powerful transformations, and I’m here to walk beside you as you make those changes—at your own pace, in your own way.
When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me spending time with family, exploring local nature spots, or enjoying a good cup of chai. I find joy in the same things I hope my clients will rediscover—connection, balance, and moments of quiet self-care.
At Ellie Mental Health in Novi, we believe therapy should be approachable, real, and even a little bit fun. My hope is that our work together helps you reconnect with your authentic self and create relationships that feel supportive, loving, and lasting.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Let’s start building the connection and confidence you’v
