Raven Johnson understands that being human is tough, and at times, it might feel like it’s too much. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in shame spirals or narratives that once helped us endure life’s challenges but are no longer effective. We might turn to unhelpful behaviors to soothe the parts of us that want relief. Raven believes it’s okay to need support to unlearn these patterns and learn new ways of living that increase a sense of purpose.
Raven is passionate about working with individuals navigating substance use recovery, complex trauma, anxiety, relational challenges, and PTSD. She creates a collaborative and safe space to challenge beliefs that are no longer serving a person, process shame that’s weighing them down, and bring awareness to how the past informs their present self.
Raven’s approach is rooted in an attachment-based framework. She thoughtfully incorporates elements of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), and polyvagal theory to guide individuals through their healing journey. She believes everyone’s path to healing looks different, and no one has to navigate theirs alone.
Outside of her practice, Raven finds her own moments of peace and joy, or “glimmers,” through trail running, napping, reading a good book, and taking her giant fluffy dog to the park.
