Nixin (she/they) is a warm, caring therapist who believes that everyone has their own ability to recover and live the life they want. She is dedicated to providing a non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive space where clients feel they belong, feel safe, and feel heard. Nixin feels honored to work alongside each client and to witness, support, and help them through every fragile moment of their life. Nixin always brings her authentic presence to her clients because she believes the power of therapy lies in relationship.
Nixin earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas. She has worked in a range of settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization programs, and community mental health, where she has had the chance to work with individuals, groups, and families. She has also worked closely with school systems to help build a supportive environment for her clients outside of the therapy space.
Born and raised in China, Nixin is fluent in Mandarin and understands both Western and Asian cultural frameworks. She has experience working with the Chinese population around immigration related family expectations, acculturation stress, and intergenerational conflict, dynamics she understands both professionally and personally.
Nixin enjoys drawing from different therapy lenses to meet each client’s needs, including CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, and music therapy. She also holds a feminist therapy perspective and stays mindful of the power dynamics between herself and her clients. Nixin has experience working with individuals and families around eating disorders, identity exploration, depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, self-harm and substance use, and adjustment issues.
In her spare time, Nixin enjoys bouldering, going to the gym, and doing Pilates, along with playing games at home. She also loves reading novels and watching TV shows and movies.
