Monika Cunningham, LSW (Licensed Social Worker), works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, PTSD, self-esteem concerns, and the family and cultural pressures that come with figuring out who you are in a world that may want to decide that for you.
Her approach is compassionate, supportive, and culturally responsive, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through a trauma-informed lens to help clients understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while building real, practical tools and confidence. Perfectionism, the pressure to always be “strong,” self-worth struggles, questioning whether you belong in certain spaces: Monika wants clients to have a place where all of that can be explored without judgment, because she knows those experiences are shaped by culture, family, gender roles, and expectations we didn’t necessarily choose. And most importantly, therapy with her doesn’t have to feel like a chore or one more obligation on the list. It can be a space to laugh, be honest, learn something real about yourself, and build the security to navigate life on your own terms.
