I am a licensed graduate professional counselor who has experience supporting clients struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, life/career transitions, parenting and relational stressors, caregiver burnout, prolonged grief, and low self-esteem. Prior to becoming a counselor, I served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years. My experience provides me an understanding of the unique stressors and complexities associated with working in the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense, along with a deep appreciation for the pressures and hardships faced by military families.
I come to the counseling profession open-minded and open-hearted, ready to walk alongside you and support you during challenges, life transitions, and emotional difficulties. Because a single counseling framework will not work for everyone, my approach to counseling is integrative across multiple theories. I strive to match the most effective therapeutic interventions with the unique needs of my client. Among the various approaches, I am particularly drawn to CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and narrative therapy.
I firmly believe that we are all “works in progress.” This includes myself. Having a growth mindset is extremely important to me, and I believe I can use my skills, knowledge, and experience to help you grow, reach your goals, and achieve your full potential. At the same time, I respect and honor that you are the expert of your life. My role as your counselor is not to give advice, but to empower you with options, additional tools, and encouragement. Providing a safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental environment for you to express yourself and process your experiences is my top priority. I look forward to working with you!
