Hi, I’m Michelle Cheifetz, LSW, and I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where children, teens, adults, and families feel understood and empowered. I know that reaching out for help can be a big step, and approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a belief that every person has unique strengths to build on.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on child and adolescent mental health, trauma, play therapy, and relationship dynamics. My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed, drawing from play therapy and motivational interviewing to help clients feel heard, supported, and equipped for growth.
While I specialize in working with children and adolescents facing challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, social difficulties, and life transitions, also enjoy supporting adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, and major life changes. My goal is to meet clients where they are and help them build resilience, confidence, and meaningful change.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than a decade teaching in preschool settings, which deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of connection with both children and families.
Outside of the therapy room, enjoy spending time with my cat, family, and friends, as well as horseback riding and gardening.
