Melissa is an LMHCa with a BA in Psychology from American Military University and a Master’s in Counseling from Geneva College. She has experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families.
She views clients from a holistic perspective that considers their current environments, relationships, and family of origin. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, often combining mindfulness, parts work, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Melissa believes that the way individuals interact with those closest to them offers valuable insight into how they see themselves and the world; as such, she encourages clients to involve family members in sessions when appropriate.
Melissa specializes in childhood trauma—whether supporting children currently experiencing it, helping parents break generational cycles, assisting couples as they navigate each other’s trauma, or guiding individuals seeking healing from old wounds. She also supports clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, anger, codependency, abuse recovery, attachment, adoption, self-worth, and parenting.
