About Melanie Kurz
Melanie is a graduate student at Northwestern University pursuing a degree in Clinical Counseling. A veteran and military spouse, she previously served as a victim advocate with the U.S. Air Force, supporting individuals through difficult and often vulnerable experiences. She is passionate about working with diverse populations and, during the first portion of her internship, focuses on supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life’s adversities. Melanie takes a warm, client-centered approach and incorporates DBT and play therapy techniques when helpful. Outside the office, she enjoys drawing, painting, and spending time with her dog and family.
