Marni is an Associate Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She graduated with honors from Northcentral University (MAMFT) in 2022 already with about 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, parents, and families as an educator. Marni has extensive experience working with teens (12+) and adults, couples, families, “non-traditional” relationships, neurodivergence, LGBTQIIA+ (including ally support), parent education, life transitions, and folks with both mental and physical issues negatively affecting each other. In other words, Marni understands trauma.
Marni is a systems thinker, helping clients see the “big picture” and all of its smaller working parts that cause life’s problems. She is a lifelong learner, believing that the more skills she can bring to the therapeutic relationship, the more able she is to meet the needs of the client. So, in addition to formal mental health training, Marni is a Reiki Master, a certified Life Coach and Spiritual Coach, and she is currently pursuing certification as a Master Clinicial Aromatherapist. She has witnessed the success of mindfulness practices in all types of situations, especially when utilizing a framework called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, for which she is certified. ACT can be tailored for each client’s specific needs by drawing from models such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Experiential and Nature Therapy, Geek Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Eco-Systemic Family Therapy. Together, Marni and her clients identify what’s no longer working and create new ways of living satisfying, well-functioning, empowered lives.
In her free time (What? Free time?), Marni gardens, plays with her dogs and cats, worries about her adult children, crochets, cooks, and especially, writes.
