Mai (pronounced “my”) is a therapist and chaplain who works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, chronic illness, relationship challenges, identity, life transitions, and questions of meaning and purpose. Their approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that mental health is shaped not only by what happens within us, but also by our relationships to our communities, to our identities, to our lived experiences— and all of the world around us.
Drawing from an existential humanistic, interdisciplinary therapeutic orientation, alongside cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, narrative, relational, and mind-body approaches, Mai collaborates with clients to better understand their experiences, clarify their desires and goals for mental health and well-being, deepen their connection to what matters most, and ultimately live fuller, more meaningful lives.
Mai welcomes clients across diverse identities, cultures, beliefs, relationships, and ways of moving through the world, including LGBTQIA+ and queer individuals, people exploring questions of identity or belonging, and those whose experiences have not always been felt, understood, or affirmed in traditional spaces.
Mai prides themselves on making therapy a space where people feel free to bring the questions, concerns, and experiences that matter most to them, even when they are difficult to put into words.
Outside of therapy, Mai enjoys cooking, spending time at the library, discovering great restaurants, reading a good book, and connecting with friends and new people over warm and inspiring conversation. They also enjoy the theater, the symphony, and a good night out on the town.
Mai also hopes to one day earn a Ph.D., continuing their lifelong curiosity while deepening their practice, research, and teaching at the intersection of theology, psychology, mental health, human connection, and human flourishing.
